About

e.vestor Communications is an independent investor relations firm in Toronto, providing dedicated Investor Relations Officer services to companies listed in Canada and the U.S., from startups to multi-billion-dollar companies, through IPOs and RTOs, growth and turnarounds.

We work inside a client's IR function as its senior IR leader and, with the CEO and CFO, a core member of the executive capital markets team, keeping management and the board informed about what the market is saying and why.

We also manage the outside providers a listing depends on, from newswires and webcasters to transfer agent and shareholder event support, bringing in specialist help where a file calls for it. Management deals with one point of contact.

Track record

Our clients have raised more than $1 billion in total through IPOs, RTOs, secondary offerings and private placements. e.vestor works alongside management, legal counsel, the exchanges and the investment banking underwriting syndicate.

Case Studies

Four client programs, in brief. Client names are withheld.

A U.S. company's long-form IPO in Canada

A private, high-growth U.S. company chose to list on a Canadian exchange through a long-form prospectus initial public offering, followed by a U.S. dual listing. We ran deal and non-deal roadshows across Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Years later, we supported a strategic investment by a global consumer-products company as part of a recapitalization.

Results: More than 180 institutional investors in the IPO, across Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Follow-on offerings within a year, including a secondary sale by insiders.

Back to market after a cease trade

A small-cap growth company came back to trading after a two-year cease trade order, with new management, a new strategy and no analyst following. We rebuilt the investment story, the IR website, the investor presentation and the conference call format. We separated bookings, revenue and shipments so investors could read the numbers clearly, and set key metrics to report each quarter. We introduced the company to 14 analysts across Canada, built its investor database and put it on the conference circuit.

Results: Five analysts covering the company within a year. Quarterly trading volume doubled year over year, three years running. Quarterly roadshows supporting the new coverage. An oversubscribed bought deal in year two.

Rebuilding after a failed IPO

A technology company came to us after an IPO that had not found its market. We built a full IR program and supported its international roadshows and financings.

Results: Analyst coverage from one to 12. Renewed liquidity and access to capital. A shareholder base that went from entirely Canadian to 40% Canada, 50% U.S. and 10% Europe.

Building IR from the ground up

A digital mapping company had no IR function, no analyst coverage and little trading liquidity.

Results: Analyst coverage from none to four. Substantial gains in institutional ownership and liquidity. $175 million raised across several financings, supported by international roadshows. Shareholders of 50% Canada, 45% U.S. and 5% Europe.

Cory Pala works as the senior IR officer for public companies listed in Canada and the U.S., advising management and boards through IPOs, strategic investments, financings and turnarounds. His mandates include a cross-border IPO and, more recently, a strategic investment by a global consumer-products company.

He co-founded The Equicom Group, which became Canada's largest investor relations agency and was later acquired by the Toronto Stock Exchange.

He founded e.vestor on an early recognition that investors and public companies were evolving their conversations online; from investor relations, to e-vestor relations.

We put current AI tools to work on market monitoring, research and analysis, so more of our time goes where it counts: judgment and counsel.
